Hai hai Wenz, I feel the same way. Doesnt help that the boss is away and I have nothing to do. SO catching up on The mentalist :P

Oh and playing popcap games.
 
Jir, those people are angry heh. Just saw the thread now. Perhaps I should get out of the news threads once in a while and actually go and check threads like that. A lot more drama and everyone is angry. Very similar to my neighbourhood.

Anyways, what's happening in here? Gaan dit goed met almal?

They do be angry. See what Apple products do to people. I've only got a little iPod nano and I already spent the morning moaning at TK

The demo gives you 2 levels to play, the one involving jetpacks. I think it's going to be awesome, ran very smoothly on my machine and was huge fun. It feels like the RTS game but from a FPS perspective.

Hahahahaha lekker. To think that a tablet device can cause so much upset on a forum. But mind you, I have seen smaller things make people lose their minds. Now that the competition is over, all of the spammers and temp-members-but-full-time-iPad2-hunters are gone. Nou is ek gelukkig.

Ya, I think a lot of the people weren't even gamers, they just wanted to win an iPad, then they got all upset when they got disqualified or that their 1% chance of winning didn't pan out.

There was even an oke who entered multiple times with different accounts. To be honest, I was drawn to the site a couple of months ago by the Exclusives competition...and now I'm still here. I wonder how many members are brought this way via competitions?

Probably plenty, and that's the point really. But there's always a few that are only here for the comp, and won't stick around after anyway.

I personally frequent a few different forums, and from time to time I get caught up on one of the others and don't spend quite as much time here as I do on the others, then there's a comp so I check out what's going on here, and get involved in some threads, which usually gets me the required post count on day 1 and then stick around until I get caught up somewhere else again. It can net new members, as well as keep old members active

Same here. I do see a lot of activity on the forum these days. Competition = success.

I must say I'm not phased as to whether or not a person stays on the site whether they win or not, it just pisses me off when guys think that they are gonna get away with spamming the forum and pissing everyone else off in the intrum... it's really bullshit and ja I used to flame the newbies coming on to the site a few years back but then I just thought it's only gonna chase them away and thats not what we want around here...
 
I first came to this site when I had joined MyBB and then like 4 months down the line of lurking on MyBB I found out that MyG had started up and I joined here and been here ever since :)

I actually joined here long ago, but I just used to lurk for the most part, then there was a comp for Dead Space 2, plus a concurrent one on Facebook. I didn't qualify on post count so I entered on Facebook, and I won that :D, and that's when I got hooked on gaming forums. Haven't won anything since though

EDIT: oh look, I joined MyGaming the same month Syco did. He's obviously been a little more active than me, and from waaaaay earlier on
