Nothing much, on lunch.

Amped for Friday; Rage and (more importantly) Dark Souls have been pre-ordered and are awaiting my collection. Why cant it be friday already?

And yourside Brother?

More month end bollocks and I'm fcking starving. That's about it.
Think I'm going to skip Rage actually.

hahahaha

Take your time tho - there is so much info on there it is not even funny. Do you have an idea of what kind your looking at?

*edit* Murph Fabio is browsing the TASA forums today, so I know he isnt working hard :P

Yeah no definitely.

Take a look at my thread, posted two links.
Don't know whether I should go with a prebuilt setup, or buy the stuff separately.

Hai hai Omega

@Fabio - I prefer prebuilt - but its mainly because I struggle with these kinda things. The links you gave didnt work. What size tank are you looking at?

I only realized it now!

LOL, I think I'm going for something small at first, probably something like the Fluval Edge Aquarium 23 Litre Black.

Just so that I can get acquainted with the whole fish scenario.

And then once I'm settled and know what's what I'll go for something bigger i.e. 200l.

What do yo think?

Ok the fluval is my downfall I want the fluval chi 19L for a male fighter so bad!

The edge is a very nice tank, a bit hard to clean from what I have read on reviews, and if you want to keep a male fighter in it you cant fill it to the top since they need a little space to breathe air.

Also the fluval is very tiny cant put a lot in it unfortunately - trust me I know since my smallest tank is the 30L nano Jebo.

The boyu tank is top range, I love their tanks. That one is a marine tank so the chiller is useless. Have a look or go speak to the guys at PetStop and Jungle Aquatics. They can help you build a tank with ease. And if you build it yourself you do save a load of cash. Since my brother went from an internal filter to a Hang on Back (HOB) one I have to say I prefer that HOB filters - they are quiet and they do a brilliant job.

For what they are asking for the Fluval Edge, you can get the Juwel 60L Goldfish tank, heater and HOB filter for under R1500. And if you go to one of the sponsors listed on the site you will get an even better price. They tend to give discounts.

Hmmm I see!

That Fluval Chi is really nice!

Thing is, we're currently renting our flat and will probably move out and get our own place in the next year or so, so I don't want to go to something big.

I'd really like to get a nice sleek looking tank, which will be big enough for about 2 big fish and maybe some small-ish fish and 1 or two plants.

Do you think the egde will be big enough for that?

The edge wont be, Im not sure on what you will be able to keep in it, ask on the forums tho. The 60L sounds big but it really isnt. its basically just a bit bigger than the fluval edge. And if you get the HOB filter it really doesnt take a lot of space - my brother has one in his bedroom and its quiet as well. The otherthing is with the slightly bigger tank you risk less things going wrong, its easier to keep a slightly bigger tank in good order than a small one. My brother used to have the small tank on his kitchen counter - planted in such a way that you could look at it from all sides. Which makes a really nice feature. I would go and speak to the guys at one of the shops. See what they say. I still regret getting the 30L tank altho its a great home for my male, its just so tiny - really hard to scape in and go bonkers with. My 40L Jebo the R338 is a better choice and I know Boyu does make a similar one. (The Jebo is not found as often as the boyu.) I wouldnt go smaller than 40L tbh. That way you have more space for fish - 23L is only 6gallons - so max of 3 to 6 small fish. where the 40L is about 10g and I have 8 guppies and the 5 female bettas as well as a pleco in there.

5 female bettas?

Just read that you can't stock them together, or is it just the male bettas?

So the the fluval chi, do you want it solely for your Siamese fighter, no other fish with it?

The Chi will be for just a male fighter :P My 30L currently has a male fighter and a small Pleco in it. The females can be kept together in groups of 5 or more. The males unfortunately cant. They will kill each other. I would advise to find a spectacular male - like one of those that the guy on the forum is selling. And add a few white clouds or even black neon tetras. Plants always is a good thing for a tank as it provides another method of filtration. Just before you buy the plants have a look on the forum as to what is aquatic and what isnt. Since unfortunately LFS sell loads of non aquatic plants all the bloody time!

Mornings!

/man my assistant from the east rand is testing my patience this morning.... she's going on about how rude people are on e-mail when they are in fact not.... the person who e-mail her used capitals in the subject line (which everyone always does) now thats rude WTF? really and then she goes on to complain on other aspects *SIGH*
