The top 6 new IPs of 2011

Technically Minecraft was available for play back in 09....

As for the rest... they all bombed out sales wise, most where huge disappointments....

Where do you get that from?

LA Noire sold very well, Dead Island just announced it's 3 millionth sale and Rage is also doing well. Only Homefront and to a lesser extent Bulletstorm did poorly. To label them as huge disappointments is quite unfair.

LA Noire failed to capture the way it was suppose to. If was boring, bland and predictable. It was also plagued by the stupidest game logic in a long time. Not to mention the studio behind it went bust.
Rage while pretty has a static world reminiscent of the bygone early 2000s. Its plot was weak and lacked imagination.
Homefront bombed due to lack luster gameplay, short campaign. What it did have was a good plot idea poorly realised.
Dead Island was suppose to be a mature, serious take on the Zombi-apocalypse genre which it completely disregarded and delivered your standard RPG but with Zombies.
Bulletstorm was low brow, stupid, bland, boring and the one game I regret buying this year.

So as far as I am concerned, they where disappointments.

Well you are entitles to your opinion of course :) but to most people they were pretty decent, besides Homefront, I think everyone can agree that was bad.

I think i read an article the other day and the only two of those IP that is def getting a sequel is Homefront & Bulletstorm. I wish they would just bury bulletstorm. Crytek is developing Homefront 2 so it should be better.

I liked Bulletstorm. :) Two things that were disappointing was it's short campaign and the lack of proper multiplayer. Granted I picked it up for cheap and I wouldn't recommend it at full price but for the brief time I spent with it I enjoyed myself.

I must be completely honest and say that I have not played a single one of these titles. I intend to do so with LA Noire and Dead Island...Minecraft maybe.

I enjoyed Bulletstorm, was a little bit different and I loved that it wasn't a serious game, we have enough of those.
Bulletstorm may be testosterone fueled run and gun but it was fun and that's what I love about gaming.

Can't believe you didn't like LA Noire OmegaFenix xD It was a great game and I would recommend it to anyone that hasn't played it yet.

Dead Island..If it weren't for the bugs the game would have been a big hit, I loved it and it has insane potential to become great. Hopefully they do release a Dead Island 2 and fix all the little issues, could truly be amazing.

Can't be bothered with Minecraft so no opinion on that.

Rage...I hated it, felt like they copied Borderlands, maybe just me but again it could have been great but the game felt lazy, with little to no innovation. Then there was the F*ck up with the graphics and other issues that killed the game for me.

Homefront...Mmmm good idea...but sucked total balls, I hated every second of it.
Glad to see Crytek behind Homefront 2..If anything they know how to make a great, graphically impressive game. So hopefully they can pull of something awesome!!

The concept behind LA Noire sold me on it early on. Followed it's development closely and picked it up on release day. Started off ok and then the entire detective idea just left the building. Investigations where less about the player using their own brain power to solve crimes and more about following the yellow brick road that the developer had laid out. While I liked the idea of losing a lead if you screw up a questioning, the fact that the game forced you to follow said yellow brick road even if you figured out, and had enough evidence to convict, who dunnit early on. By the time I got to the Vice desk I lost all interest, the characters started pissing me off and the forced back story cole just mean that I put it down and left it in SA when I had to choose which of my games are coming with.
