The Verge is sorry to read that some viewers were upset by the light-hearted nature of one of our thirteen reports from rAge 2011. As an official media partner of of the expo, we covered every single angle of the event, including running a joint stand with the organisers, NAG. The detailed nature of our reports and strong all-round presence should indicate a healthy respect for gaming culture and the people who participate in it. Vuzu is an entertainment channel and we think humour is an important aspect of that, so hopefully the small number of viewers unhappy with the LAN report will see the lighter side of things.

Uhm i havent seen a single person having something good to say about this.

So i proceded to partake in a test in the office. We have 2 gamers in our office out of 40 people working there and not a single person who viewed this video saw the "lighter" side.
 
So to recap, they called everyone kids, they portrayed gamers as basement dwelling goblins (yes they used the word goblins), perpetuated the stereotype that gamers are socially inadequate and thus never have girlfriends/boyfriends/wives/husbands, that gaming is something that needs be tolerated and socially unacceptable, and to top it all off by more or less calling gamers gay.

If that was a forum post it would have a huge troll badge stuck right onto it but HEY GUYS, we're sorry it's just light hearted humour.

We should be outraged about this actually. So i can understand why people are pissed off. We are allready seen as nothing by the international gaming as a whole and now our local show is making a mock of us. They can say as much as they want how it was ment to be funny but it was far from it.

So in the words of Russel Peters "Be a man" and apologise properly for this. Verge must remember if you piss off gamers they have a unique way of showing how they feel about it. So dont be suprised if verge's name is dragged through the mud even more now after this "apology".

Oh and Verge/Dstv...Deleting peoples comments just makes them more angry.
