The Wii U should be launching in 2012

How is a tablet gaming device a "next-gen console"? I seriously can't see how one can compare this to gaming consoles (XBox, PS)

The Wii U looks like that Project Fiona gaming tablet that Razer is making.

That's just the controller - it's a proper console, we swear. It works with a TV and everything.

Also, you can leave the console running in the TV room for example, while someone watches TV, and take the wireless touch screen remote thing with you into another room and continue playing your game, which is a neat idea actually.

I am excited for it, but will not get it at launch I'm afraid. Even if Zelda in HD is a launch title, it must wait....

I rate the only thing they'll deliver is a R5000 console with very few titles to choose from. The only thing Nintendo is good at these days..Is marketing.

Edit: Meant to say very few good titles to choose from...as there will almost certainly be a gigantic pile of crap to choose from.

This console probably is going to have some nice capabilities and one or two games that'll be worth it. My problem with Nintendo as a whole is that they market way too many games for the Japanese market and for kids, its just always a fad.
In my opinion, unlike the competition, Nintendo doesn't build a console to last. They'll enjoy good sales untill the next gen XBox and PS hit the stores then there will be a long-term repeat of last year's crappy third quarter.

Interesting. I still haven't played a ton of games on my Wii. I will most likely wait a while before buying this. I am really keen to test this though.
