Thinking of an ssd.. advice?

Increasing the performance by decreasing the time it takes to boot. An SSD DECREASES boot time, as we are talking about time here not performance. An increase in time means more time, a decrease in time means less time.

Therefor, an SSD would decrease boot time, not increase it :)

And still we come to the same conclusion :p

The short version: Don't defrag, don't full format, don't use full disk encryption.

Pretty decent guide - I don't know why the author wants to switch off superfetch though. Superfetch is primarily a memory management component. Switching it off is just plain retarded. Yes you'll save a few SSD writes, but you'll also screw over the memory management.

Haha yeah.. well i have some knowledge of technology so i'm not going to be fooled into doing something idiotic.. also i do extensive research into components that i buy. Especially when it can go up to the thousands of rands..

Have to be careful so as not to waste money
