This is South Park: The Stick of Truth's Censor Screen

The censor screen for affected versions of the forthcoming South Park RPG The Stick of Truth has been leaked.

A Reddit user, who managed to get his preordered copy of the game early, posted the above image on the Gaming subreddit. Its caption reads: "This is what EU-residents see during the censored Stick of Truth scenes."

Instead of simply removing the scenes, it seems South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker have chosen to offer a cheeky text description instead, leaving the scenes up to the player's imagination. Cleverly, this method of censorship acknowledges the removal of a scene rather than simply pretending it never existed, and it doesn't leave players wondering what happens, either.

The seven censored sequences, comprising mostly anal probing scenes, will affect console versions of the title in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. The anal probing scenes also landed the RPG in trouble in Australia, where it was refused a rating twice before being classified R18+ on the third attempt with the anal probing sequence replaced by text descriptions and "a still image of a koala crying."

Lol what a way to handle this!! This is why I like South Park. They should have a picture of Jacob Zuma dancing and laughing on the screen....

We can learn from the Greys (type of alien, as if you didn't know) in this respect. Where we censor anal probing they have risen beyond such pettiness and have learned to embrace it.

Wow, funny world we live in where you can hack a persons head off in HD graphis but a south park anal probing is to much

I know a few people who would rather have their heads hacked off than have their anals probed.

(I know anals isn't word, but I like the sound of it).
