Thoughts on the new Windows 7

Hey people

Just thought I would start a thread and I know it's not really a gaming category, but I just wanted to know what your thoughts were on the All New Windows 7b as I just installed it and just flipping through to see how things pan out... I would like to get it seeing and test my games on there and just checking to see if XP software and drivers are compatible with it... as this was a huge concern with Vista
 
Well as you all know im running Windows 7 7000 build 32bit and 64bit.
It is by far the best ever Os I have ever used and ive used them all from Windows 95,98,2000,Xp 32 and 64 bit, and the ultra bad vista, wich in my opinion was launched way before it was actually completed. We ran a small little ram ussage test on vista 32bit and windows 7 32bit and we found that Vista used around 21% of the available ram just to run itself where as Windows 7 used only 16%.

Windows 7 automatically checks for the latest drivers for all your pc hardware and installs it without you even knowing it. Its effortless and extremely user friendly and the whole feel of Windows 7 is also alot smoother and well rounded compared to vista.
What they did was they took bad vista and turned it into brilliant windows 7 fixing all the little vista niggles along the journey.

For windows 7 to perform at is best you would need a internet connection when installing it as it'll download the latest drivers ect, so you don't have to.

In conclusion Windows 7 is what Vista should have been and a hell of alot more!!

Well I also wanna know does it fix the whole XP compatibility issues??? U might remember when Vista first came out no program could run properly on Vista u had to track down something similar to the driver u tried to install and use that or get an XP converter or something and it was the same for our games have you had any issues with gaming since installing Win7???? :D
 
I havn't had any issues with any of my ORIGINAL games. The only issue ive found was trying to run deamon tools to mount an image for a game. So untill Deamon tools bring out a compatible version for windows 7 the copied game generation will suffer.

Other than that I havn't found any issues!!

There is other software you can use that have been tested with Windows 7.

I have not had a single issue with it. Faster/smoother than Vista, loads faster, goes through windows/folders faster etc etc.

Not that I had problems with my vista though, since SP1 vista has been awesome on my rig.

But 7 is MUCH MUCH better.

Im gonna chack out the link you gave and then i'll run the image mounting software...If it works thumbs up if it doesn't thumbs up...At least you tried..lol!!
 
As far as I know and from what ive heard it'll launch at the end of august with five dif flavours, Home, office, ultimate blah blah..You know what I mean..lol!!

The other four editions will cover developing markets, netbooks and the enterprise sector.

It's now 6 dif vers.

Windows 7 has no official release date yet but is expected to be released in late 2009 or early 2010.
