I dunno, because there's no way in hell that I am capped, my dad's and mom's PCs have both had viruses, so I'm wondering if viruses can use up megabytes?

Is it possible for a virus to use your internet megabytes?

Some of our clients went from 500MB per month to +7GB per month usage.

Not exactly a virus, but a little script that turns the PC into a "zombie" that forms part of millions of other PC's involved in DOS (Denial Of Service) attacks.

Congratulations for being part of the successful DOS attacks against Twitter and Facebook...

Well it can really be two things: Spyware or a Virus

Spyware, install hidden programs onto your computer. Moniters your browers and keystrokes and adds delays accordingly.

Virus, installs computer code and multiplies itself by sending it off to everyone else around the world etc.. usually by e-mails n stuff

:/

So yes it's definitely possible.

And here I thought DOS-attacks was a thing of the past

Ah, thanks Dix.

And you remove this thing how?

Get yourself over to http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/
1. Read everything, follow all links.
2. Create an account.
3. Download HijackThis, install, run and post results here http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/forum103.html
4. Someone will pick up on your post and guide you through the process
5. Be patient and follow all instructions
The above is the cheapest option.

If you do not come right, let me know and I will send out a technician to your place and get the problem sorted right away - this is also the most expensive option.

Yup, that's true.

If option 2 is the only way to go, then I will rather ask my father to take it in to Allied Computers, he has an account there for his business, they can also replace my 1 fan while they're at it.

I do appreciate the help Dix, thanks.

Ok. Please backup all the important files and mail.

They tend to format, rather than fix.

I have contracts with most of the Retailers in EL for data recovery.
