Roight ... so tomorrow I've got the nahoon mile on. 1.6km River swimming race :/

I haven't swum a single lap of practice since last year's race :(

hehe nah its ok, it might be 1.6km long, but its a river - so the sides are only 50m away :D


Plus there are tons of little kids around that I can string together and fashion a flotation device :D
 
That's _IF_ I can catch one of them .... those little buggers are crafty critters!

My time last year was 35mins. Hopefully I make it in under 40 this time around :( It's been storming and showering down with rain today so the water should be warm, albeit very dirty and whatnot. I just hope the Zambezi's stay away.
 
I dont know whose from cape town around here, but cant we organize a meet for ct? I hate missing out on all the action

Not a bad time, Voicy. Aren't there any crocodiles in the river?

The whole country is nice cold and wet weather, while CT is burning to hell, with fires and all.
Tomorrow CT is going to be a sweltering 35 degrees while the rest of SA is in the mid 20's.
 
Yeah the whole week has been hot here, i couldnt even sit in my non air conditioned car for like more than ten minutes without feeling like i was dying from heatstroke.

Goodness crisis, that race sucked. Bloody jelly fish in the water and what not.

My time was almost 6mins slower than last year, but I got my shirt + medal :D

There was a black paraplegic oke swimming too, when he eventually came in everyone cheered him on...as in EVERYONE. Shame they strapped a flotation device to him to keep his waist adrift. I take my hat off to anyone like that.
