Smokey as a writer yourself you can appreciate mah sig. You into sci-fi/fantasy novels?

Oh, through and through buddy. I always appreciate people appreciating the written word. Tiss a beautiful thing.

And yeah, I'm into Fantasy novels more. But, will dable in Sci-Fi. Enjoy Sci-Fi movies and series more.

But Fantasy is my mistress. In ANYTHING! Novel, Movie, Game, Series...Firefly, still one of my favourite series around. Lord of the Rings...I have the boxset on Blu-Ray :P

O, and when you talking Plato, you're talking my language. Studied him along with old Fred Nietschze in Uni...Contemporary Culture buddy ;)

I havent real alot of Plato's stuff but the republic is a fav. Especialy like the bit in my sig.

Assumptions here, but anyway .....

Why is it that guys who do novels/stories/reviews etc, don;t really bother with poetry and lyrics type stuff ..... and vice versa? I can go with the latter but would fail (assuming again) with trying reviews/stories. Do you agree or do you in fact have stuff like poetry and whatnot?

Strangely enough, I actually have that tatooed on my arm. On my right inner bicep.

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

Yup. haha! Was one of my favourite frases, and I prefered the directly translated frase, for it tied in with my love for Graphic Novels.

Who will watch the watchmen? ;)

I suck at poetry. I think it coz they come from different sides of the brains. I enjoy fiction and good litrature, Ann Rand's Atlas Shrugs is one of my fav novels of all time even if i can't seem to finish it. Lyrics and Poems rely on differnt emotions and such i think. Lyrics are written to envoke a specific emotion. If they artist feels sad as do u. Novelists have to change the emotion depending on the scene. My 2c anyways.

A Kindred spirit at last. I loved watchmen it is such an awesome story. I also prefer the directly translated version but for the purpose of the sig i changed it a bit.

@ OC i saw.

hmm, quite a thought provoking opinion actually ..... and probably the one reason that makes the most sense.

Yup. haha! Was one of my favourite phrases, and I prefered the directly translated phrase, for it tied in with my love for Graphic Novels.

I'm actually a scriptwriter by proffesion though. Dabble in other forms. Busy writing my Opus now. well, my opusses (if that's a word...lol). Got 2 novels, and 3 scripts. Just need to find time to finish them. Have had quiet a few of my short stories and poetry published when I was younger, and have numerous screen credits with TV.

Okay, enough braggin for me for one day :p

I'm actually the vocalist in a band Mephisto. And I used to write poetry, but fell in love with music, so write lyrics instead. If you're a true writer, you can adapt to anything. I've done radio, tv, journalism, magazine, reviews, script, short story, novel, etc.

You always try new things :)

Well you're just a Jack-of-all-Trades freak then smokeboi :p:D

Wow, so you've been around eh ...... which field has been the most fulfilling for you if I may ask?

Omega is right though. It's what you prefer. Most writers will be able to write poetry or lyrics. It just depends about what drives you and what inspires you...

/Looks through telescope
The stars have aligned and brought me.... a scriptwriter.

Ive been told my novel would make an awesome movie, if done correctly.

As for opusses we're writers, writers freedom, we can make words up:cool:

Whats you stories about? if i may ask?

The most fulfilling? Music, hands down. Unfortunately, being succesful in it is a bastard. It was more of a past time for me, much like my reviewing is. The one I've been most succesfull in would be TV. But I am actually currently working on a graphic novel as well. I'm writing it for a friend, who is animating it. Gonna be BAD ASS!

But yeah, I'm a joke of all trades. And I smoke a lot. Maybe that's why I'm able to do all these things. My brain is never in one place :p
