Why'd I install? Batman AA told me I needed it for DLC, and I'm a total noob with this windows live kark.
Why do I need a format? Because something :rolleyes: is maxing my line downloading something in the background, and I can't track down the culprit. :mad:

Windows Live = lame. If you hadn't already noticed, register that you live in the UK...

Ummm... as for something downloading in the background... Weird. Could be a number of things, unfortunately. May just be WinLive updating itself? May be malware? *shrug*

Formatting won't help you if you don't know what keeps causing the problem though... But, I wish you luck...

My best guess is one the many svchosts, since I killed anything odd looking to try and find it.

Normally I'd agree, but I've uninstalled winlive, and restarted, killed my network adaptor in the hopes that it would time out, and the fact that it started after trying to log into live for the first time leads me to one conclusion: FORMAT.

Luckily my things are permanently backed up, so format is relatively painless.
 
oooh yeah, it's definitely a nasty of some sort ....... you're only supposed to have like 7 svchost and you have what, 12 or 15? And one of them is using muchos resource too :o What security apps have you used to clean?

Oh, sheesh, only saw now the one has almost 100 meg of ram taken up :eek:
Only did a virus scan with NOD32, since I didn't visit any unknown sites today. :(
