In WoW you need reputation with certain factions... each faction has about 42,000 reputation points that you have to earn in order to be exalted with them and to be able to buy cool stuff.

The particular faction i'm grinding rep for offers a sweet wintersaber mount that you can buy. Not many people in the game have it - since it's such a schlep to get the necessary rep for it.
