I actually remember when the first series of CS 1.6 bots came out damn what a pain in the ass lol...

It's a very decent part, only problem is it's a newly developed area, they didn't even have telephone lines till about a month or two ago.
That's what I was thinking next, new development. If the infrastructure isn't in place, you're going to wait years!
How is Wimax latency anyway?

for you people that can't get ADSL.
It is very good. Even better than my unshaped 384 ADSL at times. It helps if gaming is not being shaped either.
I have had in the region of 180-250ms pings to international, which is pretty freaking good. I get to see a green connection in GW every now and then. Unshaped ADSL is not as consistent.
Shaped ADSL is not part of this comparison, cause it fails, adding easily 150-300ms onto the unshaped latency @ 400+ms.

I know, but there isn't really anything else available if you can't get adsl. :(
What about 3G / HSDPA?
I have 4 different types of internet connectivity, so I have solid backup in that area. ;)
But when traveling, 3G / HSDPA on MTN is teh shiz.

Was thinking of 3G, have MTN currently with the E220 usb modem, but I play like 1min in war3 and then I get disconnected. Getting my VC prepaid sim back tonight and then I will test it again. :(

That's pretty horrible. I have had connection times of 15 hours, and then I do close to 100MB worth of gaming.

What's your connection and signal strength like?
Does it actually connect on 3G or HSDPA or step you down to GPRS?

I force mine on 3G / HSDPA only, to stop it from stepping down which it sometimes does and then your connection is shit.

Have you tried the other APN's?

Yep, bandwidth usage depends on game types, FPS are thirsty for bandwidth, I've heard BF2 / 2142 does 30-40MB an hour and more.

Hey guys..Why not start a thread for this whole internet thing in the gaming hardware section..some good info for our other users.

Cause there's WAY more voip usage in BF2/2142 than in other games.

Also the netcoding in BF2/2142 sucks granny titty. :(
