Dude I do the exact same thing, you can never be too careful especially after listening to 702 and hearing that some chick paid money for school fees to the wrong account just because of 1 digit and some jackass won't give her the money back. I'm always petrified that something like that happens to me.

LOL on a serious note first option is that you ask the person to return the money second option you lodge a dispute and the bank will recover it

Jis ja dude, I heard of that thing. I have yet to pay money into the wrong bank account, but I am terrified that I do something like that.
On another note, just took out pet insurance for those two brakke of mine. I don't have medical aid, but my dogs do. FML.

My friend paid over R60 000 to multichoice last week it was meant to go to some travel agent for a cruise for a couple of people the bank told him that the best option is to get them to pay it back if they refuse then he can lodge a dispute and then they will recover the money, fortunately they will pay it back

ja something like that. also the incorrectly enriched person has to prove that he was expecting money of that amount to be paid into their accoun ton that date. as with most things in life errors are quick to make but correcting them will take time...Dude the banks don't care about your money...

we had a big case like that for Absa bank. we collect back a 8million form the person who got the money due to fraud. and now we still have 500k left to collect from him and then he still has to pay legal fees... and this matter has been ongoing for 5 years

R60 000? JEEEEEEEZ when you transfer that amount of money, I would think that you recheck the account details for 30 mins plus!
