Agreed but this is not the normal whole wheat - this is one of those special ones, that when you look at it you cringe cos it looks dry but its sooooooooooooooo yummy.

I'm not sure that there's much design decisions going on, the network guy who looks after the servers as well probably decided the original one was getting too big. Problem now is I have to gather from all those 22 as well as the original database, and they have changed the project numbers where they have carried projects over into the new databases. What a mission

Dude, I once worked on an eight-month data cleansing and aggregation project (in probably the largest collection of data outside of banks and Home Affairs in SA). Multiple data sources with a terrible (or non-existent) design is one of the 7 circles of hell.
