I dunno. I found that sitting in bumper to bumper traffic actually uses less petrol.

That's a different matter regarding how you travel but my initial post was based on what you previously said and current spending habits, other increases from increased travel have nothing to do with what I posted.

thats just you, your car in idle uses more fuel then it would if you had been traveling at a constant speed in fifth gear...

Surely that's not true? I don't think a car uses much petrol when in idle. Acceleration uses a lot of petrol but not being in idle.

The reason being, I spent at least 40+ kms on a reserve tank in heavy bumper to bumper traffic. May have been more.

At one point I thought I wasn't going to make it.

The guys from CT will know, I hit reserve just before the Stellenbosch Arterial, running bumper to bumper all the way to Sable Road. ALL the way.
 
I dont know if its just me but i also seem to be getting terrible fuel consumption... Im lucky if i get 500km per 45L tank... If i use my aircon then its tickets...
 
I'm rather lucky that I live close to work and that I miss the toll roads too. My wife's work is a quite a bit further away but luckily she works from home most of the time.

It's getting crazy expensive to drive around. :(

500km to a 45L tank sounds about right. I used to push 680 to 720km out of my Golf. WITH a performance filter installed. Still can't explain it.

And TBH, that aircon thing is a not entirely accurate. I tested this for a week, driving like I would just with the aircon on. The consumption remained more or less the same. I did not notice any significant difference.

What car is that? I get about 750 - 800km average on my 1.4T Golf 6 , also 45liter tank

i have a 40l tank and i get between 490 km to 550km on tank of petrol, but i have a 1.2 engine and i just drive in the city in traffic... no open road

Ok first up Happy B-Day Malice hope the missus spoils you rotten.

Sexcond if i post anything that doesn't make sense toady blame my work because they finally came and installed my new security door and now they decieded to paint it in my office while it's mounted why i don't know

And third what a kak weekend for predictions
 
i think i have a groin strain from the BMF classes... either that or my appendix is going.... my leg and hip hurts so damn much
