All I know about is checking the shipping and delivery price as a possible way of tricking you. Some shipping costs more than the actual item! Do I need to worry about import duties/taxes? Any other way they can can you out of your money?

Unfortunately I can't help much there, I got it delivered to someone in the UK who then brought it over with them when the visited SA. But it's true that the shipping costs can land up being more than the item.

damn i want to go home but i have so so so much work to do.... i just cannot seem to catch up with everything....

45 mins for me annnnd i still have to do a R500 000 Proposal :(

How accurate does it have to be? On Friday I made a R9 million proposal, In one day, usually takes a month, estimated (read thumb sucked) everything based roughly on past stuff.

We usually try get proper prices for the equipment that will be used, ie stainless steel pumps etc... You can't do that in one day. So you just have to go back over past prices and add factors the steelwork you can do at a rate per ton, if you can guess the mass. It's just slightly risky doing it that way if you do get the job. Guys once had 60 000 in the budget for electrics and control instruments when it should have been 500 000 +.
