To each their own. I'm fan of the series up until X-2. I LOVE all of them I finished 3(Japanese 3 not US) to X-2 then sort of lost interest as their mechanics changed. XIII however I just did not like at all. Lightening has the personality of wall paper paste, but the story for the first two is apparently good enough to carry it. XIII - 3 is a HEAVILY timed game which would put me off immediately.

Yeah im also a huge fan of turn based mechanics rather then live i actually really enjoyed the story of XIII and i liked lightnings character especially if you play it into late game and get to know her the combat system of lightning returns does put me off a bit i wont lie but wit hthat beign said im so deep into the story i cant not find out the ending
 
mornings... so our firms name has changed today...but can i just tell you guys why we are only starting form today and not from yesterday....

BECAUSE: yesterday was aprils fools and our clients might thought we were joking.... i mean really Ginger boss really?! he is f-ing insane

I think you'll probably figure out the story straight off the bat, the third ones is really paper thin. Still I know the feeling of just following through with a series because you're super invested. I couldn't get past Lightning her tone is so monotonous that in the third game they actually create lore as to explain why she sounds so dull all the time.
