I'm gonna share some good news with you guys, because I'm about to jump out of my skin of excitement:

I had a 5 hour meeting today with regards to my employer having to present the best innovations of 2013 within the company to the owners of the company. Granted, this does not sound that big of a deal, but I work for a multi-billion rand company with overseas owners and stakeholders. Long story short, my work on resource modelling has been chosen and will be presented next week at a conference in France. Naturally, I'm overjoyed. The only downside is that I will not be going with to France though...Exco members only...

Congrats man! That is a serious accomplishment considering.

I travel through Africa quite a bit, for work. The only time I don't enjoy it is when there isn't enough budget to put us in a decent hotel.
