Sorry i dont understand what problem is ?

Why not? Old people should be treated like regular people, you know, Discrimination and all.
cause i have respect for my elders .... but also she is quite sensitive dont want scare the shit out of her...

Just smile and nod. Just smile and nod.
i have tried it doesnt work, she will just carry on. i have no resorted to putting my headphones on so that i can use the excuse "sorry what, i didnt hear you, im listening to music"

im actually soo keen to play 10 now again i watched the intro video for it the other day and was like do want

I'm working my way through all of them at the moment. I have 7-13.2 on various platforms, now I need 1-6, Crisis Core, Tactics, 12-2, Tactics A2 and 4 Heroes of Light. I can bet money that I skipped something in that sentence.

i think that's a difficulty most drummer share. Ever considered an electric set? Pricey but worth it imo.

respect is for old people! :p
seriously she is old...she is almost 70... And she has been working for this attorney for the past 12 years and it used to be just the two of them so im thinking she is starved for conversation

Yeah that's right. I've gotten lazy with drums though - 90% of the reason is that I can't really practice in my neighborhood.

The drummer I used to play with stays in a flat now so he's gotten a set of electric drums, and he loves them. Aside from not being loud, he mixes the sound from his kit and from his computer so he can play along to songs and hear it all together through his earphones.

You should let her tell you stories from the old days. Those are the best. I don't have any grandparents anymore so i miss those stories.

Get someone to phone you and apologise that you got to take this. Then when you get back say something along the lines of: "Ooo better get this done". The interruption of the phone call will give you the chance to let her know that you got to work and yet the interruption wasn't done by you but by whoever phoned you. Psychologically it should be fine with her.

I'm making this up but it sounds plausible. :)

My grandfather played golf and was the chief fire man for Durban.

He never killed or robbed anyone, he was an asshole though.

See... Totally worth it!

that's usually the worst time to use that tactic. it will then always come back to bite you on the ass

Yeah I just avoid doing that all together now. It's just easier to actually pay attention or say "Sorry i'm too busy to talk right now."

Respect is earned its not an entitlement

I think the idea is that being alive for 70+ years means you've probably, in some way or another, earned your respect.
