Insanity - eae is dull. . .

Syco I got monies back due to my medical aid stuff, please dont tell me next year it will be pointless?

Damn that sucks. Years ago I figured out that after I had a few returns like that, the idiot accountant my work was using at the time was filling in my IRP5's wrong. I'm pretty sure I should have been getting money out instead of paying in.

On another crappy note, my work has received a letter from the BSA that we must do a software audit because we may or may not have some licensing issue, with either Microsoft or Adobe.

for not paying enough tax. I got no claims, medical or other wise.

I spoke to one of the SO's now and she says I should submit it to HR and let them pay for it cause it was "their" fuckup

Wait what? That sucks! I usually get some money back because of medical aid, and from medical stuff that they don't cover (which is pretty much everything when you aren't actually admitted to hospital)

Come to think of it, when I completed Mrs 44's tax return (our medical expenses go under her medical aid), the efiling kept resetting the medical certificates value to 0 after I entered it. It wasn't a lot this year, so I let is slide and filed without entering the it.

A little clarification please, syco.

Sorry I should be more ellaborate, if you have a travelling allowance then you have a CAP based on your annual income etc... If you reach that CAP you will not be allowed to submit your medical aid certs as well as you only get back a capped limit now. So in essence you can submit either or, but not both as SARS will only use 1.

If HR did fsck up their SARS submissions they are held liable and have to pay up.

From the sound of things, it might be because our now parent company was nailed by them years ago, now they have to do an audit every 5 years, and now that we fall under that company, it could be that they are just nailing us at the same time.

We do have an MSDN subscription that should cover the MS licenses, and we have a bunch of Adobe licences, but sorting it out is going to be a huge pain. And figuring out what you can and can't do in these bulk licensing things like MSDN is really difficult, and it keeps changing.
