so after getting the facts straight (thanks Wenz!) this is my reply to HR

I am afraid you have it backwards. YOU knew I paid too little tax so YOU should have made provisions.

According to the 2014 GUIDE FOR EMPLOYERS IN RESPECT OF EMPLOYEES’ TAX (Revision 10), it states:

Paragraph 6
"Where an employer pays or becomes liable to pay remuneration to an employee, the employer has an obligation to deduct or withhold Employees’ Tax from the remuneration and pay the tax deducted or withheld to the South African Revenue Service (SARS) on a monthly basis"

Paragraph 10.1
"An employer who fails to deduct or withhold the full amount of Employees’ Tax and/or UIF contributions is personally liable for the shortfall."

Good heavens, no! I'm already taking so many pills my kidneys and liver have developed sentience.

Let me tell you: It's a good morning because I've completed about half of my Christmas shopping and thus far I'm about R1k under budget.
Also, the activity comp is over and I can post kak like this without fear of being called unpleasant names :D
