Still - last time I payed R700 for a console game was years ago. All that's require is a little patience.

Having patience is the best. I rarely pay more than R200 for a game, and I think the size of my library speaks for itself (never mind the backlog).

I am currently not at my desk, filling in at someone elses desk as they have to go to the doc quick,oh well, not like I have anything important to do right now.

Random luck also helps.

What I used to do from time to time is stop by retail outlets that sell games (Dion Wired, IC, Musica, CNA, BT) on random occasions. 70% of the time they had some sort of markdown on relatively new titles. Like something they had the shelf for like a month which started out at lets say R700 was marked down to R300.

This. Dion Wired is epic for random luck. I got the Band of Brothers Blu Ray special edition for R200 \ :D /
Also, BT has almost constant specials. It does however require you to go into BT.

In 1 month (or rather a week in that month) I picked up MGR: Revengeance, DOA 5 and RE6 for around R700. Had I waited another month, I could have gotten MGR for R100 cheaper.

But I just could not resist the Badass Cyborg Ninja with the Sword!

Absolutely, you just have to play some of your backlog for a few months and the price drops loads. And look out for specials. I got Black Flag and The Last of Us for about R300 each on the PS XMas sale, not to mention the free games I get every month from PS+.

Unless you really want to get into the MP of a game from day 1, there's not much to gain getting a game at launch price.

My brother-in-law is the gaming buyer for Dion Wired. I'll let you guys know if he tips me off about any lekker specials he's running
