Unfortunately I can't keep track of absolutely everything.

The banned accounts were well on their way to a DQ for their spamming ways, but the trail of evidence that they were related and their attempts to distance themselves from each other didn't match the IP address facts.

While I considered that they may be sharing a router or network, they denied knowing each other and the posting habits and comments in posts showed they were misrepresenting themselves. I don't like liars.

cant you add a clause in the rules maybe, only members registered for longer than 20 or 30 days are eligible for the competition etc

I think that has been asked before and refused on the grounds that a bit part of the point of running comps is to attract new members, and excluding new members would be counterproductive on that point.

The point is to get as many people on here as possible, even those that stay only for the competitions. Spam is not the main concern of a forum that doesn't charge membership fees. Advertising revenue from traffic is. So, not really a win-win.
 
I did it! I fixed the stupid bug that I've been struggling with since yesterday. It's not my code so it was a pain in the butt.

Oh god, I hate other people's code. And I have to deal with a whole lot of it at the moment.
