Almost as stupid as the 10 seconds of traffic generated is the argument that it's a good thing. This place was fucking deader than dead for months because there were no comps. You really naive enough to think when it's over, they will not just fuck off and let it die again?

It's pathetic and defending it is pathetic and that's my say. If you wanna take offence, well take it.

/end of this bullshit

From a noob point of few, I agree that it is bullshit that people who only sign up for the comp gets to win it. On the other hand, being fairly new here myself, it can be very intimidating becoming part of the community. But fuck the one post wonders.

exactly my man ....... being new and just riding the comp are way different things. More like you and less like them and one of the better forums out there can be shweet again.

This is my problem with most "newcomers".

*during competition*

There is a little more activity during the competition, but nothing to brag about.

*when competition ends*

The majority of "newcomers" f*ck off, having won the the prize, or not - whilst regulars and loyal long-time members get f*ckall.

Pardon me if I sound bias towards regulars - but the fact remains.

I think having a 10-post minimum would help.

1 is introducing yourself. 2 is thanking those welcoming you. Post something valuable in threads and getting to 10 is quick and easy.

In all honesty, I don't think these type of comps will work to get new members but the activity comps didn't work that great either. So, like I said, let them atleast try. That way the admins can't be accused of favouring only the regulars or the so called TK elite.

I've been a visitor for ages..

I guess comps do help to get people started but you need interesting posts to get them to stay.

I'm all for new people to join the forum. It becomes busier, there's more activity and generally a good vibe. I have a problem with those who don't care for the forum, just the competitions. They do not wish to be a part of this great community, but rather, to sponge off of it.

You will "see" them every "comp-session" thereafter, they seemingly go into hiding until the next big thing arrives.

The Activity comps really hurt the forum in my eyes. Thats why the MyG community steam group was open to give away games to the regulars.

The thing is what is interesting to some will not be to others I have open many threads that I find intresting but nobody else did so it dies quickly. So the more people the more intresting and wider threads being started.

Personally i want to see a newb rep competition, Whoever earns the post rep wins.
My logic is that regulars will interact with the noobs and good posts are positively reinforced with treats, kinda like training a puppy.

Sorry, there's a have-to-kill clause in sharing the secret ...........
Don't forget the clearance certificate process. It involves fire, tar and chicken feathers.

Something something Dangerzone.
