Besides, you will have to get the game burned to the USB Drive. Not sure if that's possible.

Well I got a autodesk software update delivered on a 16 gb usb drive from Ireland, so I think that is possible.

Good to know it exists.

CD-ROM Drives and DVD-Writers will soon be obsolete - OK, maybe not soon, but eventually these things will be pointless hardware if more and more software and programs use this method. May also be less cumbersome than having to deal with a disc and its drive.

Simply just: plug, play (install) and you're good to go.

Also ever since I moved my windows 7 onto a bootable usb drive my installs have been super fast.

Only saw my duplicated entry now :D

Bootable USB; I've never actually tried this method -- well, mainly 'cause I'm not sure on how to correctly do it, anyway.

o.O shit dude wtf you get a program that changed ISO to bootable usb. You don't know what you have been missing if you have to format your pc.

USB3.0 480 Mbit/s vs 16xDVD 21.13 MB/S

Ah geez! That's so much faster - holy crap!

I'll in due time try to get such a program. I will still need to get a USB 3.0 to USB 2.0 adapter cable, for my new case, as it only has USB 3.0 ports on the front.

Edit: OK, by my calculation, it is roughly 3x faster than installing via the use of a DVD Drive. As:

480Mb/s (divided by) 8 = 60MB/s.

Greetings folks... The Beaver is a year older today :D. It would be really cool and funny if the Kit (dropping some vocab on the lot of you) popped out the oven today :D.

I would have to agree, the end is near. SaaS (Software as a Service) and digital distribution platforms are the way the industry is leaning towards. However, I do think that physical installation media for operating systems will still remain around for a longish time. The only way to essentially migrate away from physical installation media for the OS would be a bit of a hybrid. Manufacturers would have to employ a SoC (System on Chip) solution which would be a basic OS or Hypervisor type system that would provide basic networking connectivity and allow you to either connect to a remote system (Virtual Desktop) or allow you to download/stream the OS of your choice to the local system. We are very close to this becoming reality, however it might still take a number of years.

Hey folks,

Got a question about Kalahari's estimated delivery time on a pre-order item.
Well more like a rant, but don't want to start a thread about it.

How accurate are Kalahari's delivery times?
NBA2k15 before checkout says will arrive tomorrow, 10th, but after paying it's estimated to be be delivered 17 Oct - an entire week later!
I paid on the 7th with CC - so that was instant.
Now when I check back on the sale page, the bloody thing is sold out.
I can't take a screen shot of the difference in delivery times

Sorry to not answer your question, chan0o, but, 2-Minute Noodles, my ass.

It takes at least 4:30 (in a microwave)... :wtf:

lol I've also complained about the whole 2 minute noodle thing since university days.
If you buy the Japanese instant noodles/ramen, they actually say it takes 3minutes - which is more spot on... they are also 20g more :D

nee gros... bring on the fig jam :D

actually I had a steak and kidney pie, on the go fruit/nut snack pack, hot chocolate, Tex bar and then Kit-Kat Chunky.

Hahaha I hate fig jam :P So at least we wont fight about who finished the jam :P

Toast and coffee for me :D Now I need to try and figure out what to do with this one final assignment
