Thread of PC Woes, Troubles, Problems, and Issues

Not really a pc woe or anything. Just don't want to start a new thread for it.

Will it be worth my time and money to replace my MSI 280x with the Galax GTX 970? I'm finally getting around to switching my cpu from AMD to Intel and wondering if I shouldn't switch to Nvidia while i'm at it.

Yes, but if you can find a 780/780 Ti just get that

Yeah, the 780Ti is just a notch faster than the 970, but they've got other issues. The 780 is just a tad slower.

I would only go for the 780's if I can get them cheaper than the 970 to be honest.

Yeah so far it looks like the 970 will be the winner. The 780Ti's are about R3k more expensive.

Can anyone recommend some good cloning software? preferably free. I've ordered a bigger SSD but don't want go through all the trouble of reinstalling and updating windows.

I use http://clonezilla.org/ around the office. If you need to expand your disk, and windows won't allow due to it being a system drive, for example, you can use one of the partition tools on Hiren's boot CD.

I need that as well, need to throw my system drive on to a new drive. Thanks, BeoTeK and murfle!

Can anyone shed some light, I seem to be getting this when visiting the specifies pages on the forum, 28 & 29.

Installed the 970 and new SSD last night. Its so much better then my 280X. Don't think I've seen it drop below 60fps with everything and everything set on ultra.
