I have to sort them by name then by date. Then I probably have to punch them, after which filing. Still have a good number of date assortment left to do, but I first want to do lunch.

Force close the program (if need be), then re-open. Or is your PC just slow?
Check in task manager to see if it's running or if it has frozen.
