oh ja Mr 44 wanted to tell you... we had this major electrical storm this morning at 2am... it hit our complex... hoping to have power back on when i get home later this evening to see if we have any "issues"

Hope nothing went ping. We had a bad storm at about 10:30pm. I think it's the same one that rolled towards Joburg.

There is a way to backup the games from within the steam client. I'll have a look when I'm home. I think I read somewhere you can just copy them as well but I've never tried that.

I think it's file in the top left, backup and restore and follow the prompts from there

I just copied my whole steam folder to a new location and directed the client to that folder....

What should work is:

There should be an option in Steam to: Restore from Back-up, thus installing from Steam backed-up files.
Some games I've discovered don't work as simple as I've put it; sometimes it is necessary to download and use the steambackup.exe to install the game (by placing the exe in the game's folder and running it).

(I hope link I've given isn't a virus, I use it at home with my games)

It's under the "Steam" menu on the the top right. Backup and Restore games. It takes a loooooong time to backup, be warned.

Copy you steamapps folder.

Then format and copy it back in and virify files it should download small files.

Yup. Mine is close to a terabyte. Backup to another drive?
Just make a copy of Steam directory.

JEez like I didn't see that. I thought it looked dodge. I am using the hd mod so it looks good anyway, only good thing about that its going to work on an andriod tablet. Without all that tinkering.
