Meh early at the office since hopefully today they will let me know the damage on the car, and since the boss had an early meating in town, I have been at the office since7:30 and its not a good thing.

i know the fell, bro :( currently feeling the same. opened email and saw a whacking big Rates bill that needs paying :-( already had to sell some shares to pay off debts, and did NOT budget for this. oh, and i needed to buy 2 new tires over weekend, which set me back a further 4k

You do realize that sin tax is levied per a bottle or box of cigarettes so the increase is basically an inflation adjustment.
 
i'm not bothered about increase in sin tax, as i don't drink or smoke :) but i AM worried about general tax hikes :( i am lready giving a huge slice of my salary towards upkeep of Nkandla, i hate to think that even more is going ot be taken off to restock Ma Ntuli tuckshop :(
 
Personally I think they need to increase the tax base not raise taxes. We have a lot of people employed who also don't pay tax and I believe they also need to contribute, not just the 10% at top who then need to pay for the other 90%. We also need to cut back on those stupid government grants and stop wasting tax money.

Busy morning is BUSY... I seriously hate starting the day with idiots phoning about silly nonsense. I know it is work, but my emotional state has been broken for the day, so henceforth I'll be super unfriendly to the rest of the callers phoning about idiotic issues.
 
Hey hey everyone. Been listening to some really old, really bad recordings of my old band, trying to remember some bass lines from over a decade ago because I have to play again soon

Hi everyone, I don't know if you guys remember Dixie? She used to be very active here a couple of years ago. She's got cancer. It's very sad. She's such a good person.

She's got a thread going in Off Topic at MyBroadband.

It's so sad to see things like that. Just thought I'll let you guys know since some of you were friends with her.
