Is it a lot tougher than what you're used to? I don't know many people who do this stuff, you're basically what I'm using as a reference point.
The "obstacles"(i cannot spell this word for some reason) are built with men in mind...so in general chicks do struggle a bit especially with the upper body stuff. i have no upper body strenght whatsoever so while i can run the obstacles do drain me very quickly. and the commando has more upper body obstacles than the rookie(rookie usually has about 3 such obstacles)and you dont have to run the course, you can walk it and save your energy for the obstacles

But you can do them without dying, right? :D You have to remember, I need to convince GF that this is a good idea, not a death trap.

ja you can, just dont have any of those can energy drinks before hand. people have died doing this race but by pushing themselves beyond your limits.

look if they will allow an 11 year old to do this why can an adult do it? we walked the January rookie race in 1:47 with an injured team mate.

OK, I'm getting the right idea here. Let me think about this a bit. I reckon I'll be doing this one, sounds like fun...and then there's one in Harties, which isn't that far away.

As with any physical activity I would always recommend to hydrate with Game, Lucazade, Powerade or something similar.
yes they give you energade and water at the watering points. just dont take any of those caffeine infused sugary canned drinks.
