Dinge gaan aan meneer, stadig maar seker, rejection letters maak my mal tho. Studies gaan goed darem. Eerste assignments klaar in gegee. En hoe gaan dit dai kant?

Ugh besig. Ek het baie min tyd. Ek kan nou en dan hier inloer met Tapatalk, andersins is ek of heavy besig by die werk, of by die Universiteit...ek moet oor 'n uur al weer klas toe ry.

Looks like i started a deep discussion. Sorry:p

At least it isn't that creepy anymore, Donsie.

.... mebbe not here but out there fo sho. It'll hit you when you least expect it :)

..... throw a meet yourself or keep a lookout for one. They don't happen very often but they do happen. Get involved with us and we'll get involved with you.

oh ok it is a bit overwhelming for me, meeting a group of people I don't know and find it better if I know at least one person beforehand.

Wise man say: "Give a man a fish, help him for a day. Teach a man to fish, help him for life."

The version I know

First meet I ever did was inviting Gradius to come around in the day if he was in the area. Once I knew him I threw caution to the wind and had a meet (was a lan actually). I knew no one except from online and it went off awesomely. I'm still friends with most everyone and have met new peeps along the way, also from online. You gotta take the risk bro, people don't give a fuck if you're weird, we're all weird, trust me, lol.

Naw I am way to sceptical. I don't believe in it :) Been burnt once too often :)
Besides I am too set in my ways to change for anyone.

Then arrange a smaller meet?

Our meets are anything from 4 people to 20. It just depends on who shows up.

The people from Mygaming are truly amazing, well all except for MH - he faded when I was in Durban so I didnt get to meet him :P

But in all the years I have been here, I have met the mygamers in cpt, jhb, pta, durbs and pe. Each one is different and unique and some are truly amazing people. I have made amazing friends on this forum. Some I know I will be friends with for the rest of my life.

One day I will when I pluck up the courage

Some people come over as overpowering on the forum, so makes meeting them feel a bit scary unless they different in real life.

Ha Ichigo, I understand completely. I'm not a people person. I think my nick probably shows as much. I'm fine on the internet though but even the thought of using teamspeak online with other MyGaming members feel like a bit much to me. I've considered in the past to join MyGaming gettogethers but I'm just too socially awkward.

It's a tough one.

Ichigo, Who is Ichigo? What are his strengths, his weaknesses? What array of things make him tick (excuse the cliche:rolleyes:). What makes him experience any number of things on the very wide spectrum of emotions? What does he enjoy, or not enjoy? Pretty much, what I'm saying is, get know this individual first. The moment you are comfortable with that dude, you're on the right path. Because you need to be comfortable with yourself before you expect other people to be to comfortable with you.

Also, the slight of hint of desperation (excuse my bluntness) doesn't do you any favors, because any potential partner will tend to wonder what deficiencies they're making up for if they sense your desperation. Which goes back to my first point.

If you're keen to meet people, sure, meet people. But as far I can tell, if you're meeting people and interacting with them just for the sake of finding Mrs. Right, you end up with inorganic interactions that never really yield whatever it is you're looking for. So, to that end, sure, meet people, but don't make finding "Mrs. Right" your purpose for interacting with them.

Next, hobbyist forums are not dating platforms and should never be treated as such (dating platforms are better dating platforms, I guess). But no one is here to find a partner. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying there isn't a chance of finding a partner on a forum like MyG through whatever interactions take place, but I'm saying that's not why anyone is on MyG, and it should never be the reason anyone becomes a member of a hobbyist (I'm not even sure my use of this is in the correct context ).

Those are my measly 2c.

tl;dr Be comfortable with yourself independent of a partner, and your path to happiness will be easier and better.

P.S.
Eugene and Wyvern, I want my money :p

Thanks will keep that in mind and I also don't use raid chat at all when gaming as I feel embarassed talking on it and scared.

Have had terrible Agoraphobia since I was 17, there are ways and means to get around 'scary' situations and you'll find once those situations are dealt with, you want moar :D

...... just jump in, you might be pleasantly surprised by who you get to know IRL ;)
