Morning all

I started my morning with a laugh thanks to this article on MyBB

can-you-pass-matric-mathematics-literacy.html

I know a lot of people aren't math orientated, but this is Matric maths!

Apart from that, it is Thursday and I am looking forward to this long weekend! Planning to go watch Avengers on Sunday.
What a gloriously cold, rainy, coffee filled day :D

Those questions are mostly about ignoring irrelevant information. It's like it leads you up to a calculation, and then asks you to count some blocks. WTF

That sounds pretty horrible FarligOpptreden! For now I'd prefer to not go the Java route. I only moved to C# from C++ about 3 years ago and I'm really enjoying it.

Java is very similar man. Get another tool in your belt of tricks... ;) We work in Midrand (but our office is in Centurion), so it's still part of the greater JHB.

Again, too little focus at school level on STEM fields to properly prepare our youth for becoming useful to the economy in the long run. I'm almost inclined to say that firstly our teachers really need a kick up the backside, some of them struggle with the basics of the subjects (including the delivery of the subjects in English). Too much focus is on "monkey see, monkey do" type work as opposed to teaching problem solving skills, research skills and self-learning skills. It honestly doesn't help knowing the entire contents of say the math book and the answer to every canned math question if you cannot solve a problem by understanding the work and how to apply the techniques taught in the book.

why must you men insist on being so difficult.... the SO did not want to book accomodation on Wednesday for this weekend as he wanted to look for something cheaper... we could have had accommodation for R280pp. this is no longer available, yesterday the cheapest i could find was R350 pp and still he did not want me to book immediately... now today that is gone as well and now he is complaining cause we are paying 400pp which includes breakfast....

Are you generalising all men because of the choices of one man?

I ought to read: "why must my SO insist on being so difficult...."

Cheaper than R280pp on a long weekend is highly unlikely if you ask me, unless you find somewhere really crappy.

NO there was a couple of places for R500 per day but obviously they go quickly and those would be self cater places. now we are staying in a guest house

Ah well, you must just tell him it's his fault for waiting till all the cheap places were gone so he must just deal with it
