It looks like there are tons of Windows updates today. I wonder if that is impacting the internet.

Would it kill all the accounts at the same time is the question. AH is sitting in the 600's, WA is in the 400's and CW is in the 300's (which is still usable at least). Bet you something broke down from laodshedding or some kak

Morning all

The day has barely started and meetings already, great stuff. I love meetings, so productive -.-

Where are 80 - 160GB SATA HDDs still available?

Why are you looking for such a small drive? And I doubt you will find a drive that size available new. Did some google-ating and the smallest I could find was 320GB. Are you looking for a 3.5" or a 2.5" drive?

Hey AT. I don't think we can stop saying good luck with this difficult time. Absolutely horrible.

My colleague is looking for a few. Wants to install an OS on them. He does not want it to cost too much, but even I think finding 80GB SATA drive with be a waste: likely only 2nd hand and they're notoriously bad choices, buying them 2nd hand.

That is true but now the worrying thing is now my Father in law, he want s to go home and sit in an empty house and i don't think that's a good idea, but how to convince him.

Hey pal.

So regardless of what stage LS will happen, tonight we will be affected. It's 18:00 - 20:30 so that's still fine.

I would have thought Black Mesa has their own power supply, some sort of Xen Reactor. Ahm, not that I know of Black Mesa or Xen or anything related to that. I...I just read about it...somewhere.....

please don't kill me

Sorry about the bad stuff that's happening in your life at the moment AlienTaker. :( I hope your father in law is okay. These things are very difficult.

Unfortunately due to a mishap some few years ago involving a Gordon Freeman, our power supply was interrupted and caused catastrophic events. We've since been trying to piece together the remnants of that fateful incident. There was a second incident even more catastrophic but all reports have been and evidence has gone "missing".

Wow fibre is being offered to our complex. And it's an amazing deal. Thing is that there must be a big enough interest from the residents in our complex for it to be feasible to install fibre.

If necessary I will go door to door and tell people how fibre will make you go to heaven. I'll be a Fibre Witness. Another complex only had 3% interest. What the hell is wrong with people?

It's fibre! Glorious glorious fibre. I really hope our complex goes for it.

I live in a 99 unit flat, lots of old people and now lots of foreigners. Don't think there would be interest by me either.

Most people have no use for fast, stable, huge cap internet connections. Most of them do their daily browsing, banking, shopping and social networking from their phones. They don't even know streaming video and audio services exist.

Luckily fibre wasn't an option where we built our house - each stand was pre-wired and you got a connection point installed next to your garage whether you wanted it or not. Naturally, I wanted it. :D

Wow that's amazing! So you currently have fibre at home? Which ISP are you using?

I do yes. Been using it for 10 months already. We only have one option: Smart Village. I don't get why people complain about them, as I have a fast, stable, synchronous 10Mbps line with nigh-on uncapped data for R850 odd per month. When there's issues they sort it out pretty much immediately.
