What kind of workouts you guys doing? I'm on the StrongLifts 5x5 right now. After a week I'm able to walk again. The main focus of these are squats. I also picked up a jump rope, but I'll never do it barefoot/socks again. Killed my shins that way!

At the moment I'm focusing on fitness, cardio and some weight training. I've got a different day after each 3 days. It's a program a trainer put together for me. Starting with a full cardio day, next day is cross training of cardio is some free weight exercises, next day is full weights. I have to keep this for at least a month before I can change to a more weights orientated program.

Good to hear. Make sure you keep motivated :) And remember, diet is even more important than the workouts. I've been using MyFitnessPal Calorie Counter, and I've gone down one notch on my belt in less than a month.

You guys are doing much more than me! I normally ride a bike to warm up and then I do the super circuit a couple of times.

Indeed it is. I'm still in the starting phases, and my first weigh-in is next week Monday....so I've got to be good over the weekend

Soli it's definitely needed in my case. I've decided, seeing as I'm turning 30 next year, and the thought freaks me the F out, I'd start doing something to start my dirty thirties on a good, healthy, sleeker note. So I've got 8 months and 2 weeks until the day it all happens, and I need to lose a boat load of weight by then

That's a good cause DieGrootHammer! Good luck!

I'm 35 already and since I hit 30 I've gradually been gaining weight. Especially since I got married when I was 30 and my wife loves cooking. So for now I'm just trying to lose a bit of weight and stay healthy.

Thanks. It's a long time though, and I hope I can keep up the conviction and motivation I have right now. It's not easy, but I'm sure it will be worth it in the end. I hope...

Oy as ek dit kan doen kan jy :P Altho I don't do the gym thing, we just go for long walks with the dogs even in the rain. for all of you the thing to remember is take your time to loose it, don't fall for the fad's and weird diets. Its taken me 3 years to loose 30kg and I am still loosing weight. But since the weight loss has started I havent gained a thing and am slowly getting back to where I am not just a round shape :P

Hi Matt. You still gym there by Virgin Active Red? I also joined there now. Such a great gym and so much cheaper than proper Virgin Active.

Haven't been for a bit because I've been sick, but ya I'll probably go back again next week. I actually like it better than the big one over the road, and it's waaay cheaper, especially with Vitality, it's under R50 pm

The worst thing is that they are almost finished building another Virgin Active down the road. There by Eagles Landing. I don't know why we have so many there by us.

Another one? There's one down by 14th Ave next the the highway as well. Apparently people like the gym on the West Rand

Looks like another lousy Friday night our side of the world if there's load shedding tomorrow. And tonight if it hits stage 2. 18:00 - 22:30

Oh noes! That's freaken horrible. That's the worst time to have no power.

Maybe I should take the wifey to the Keg on Friday evening.

why 4 and a half hours, we only have 2 and half hour outages heres, most of the time only 2 hours

I've wondered the same before. But yeah ours are always out for 4 and a half hours. Sometimes City Power comes to our rescue though and we don't get load shedded even though we are scheduled to. Like last weekend.

Sucks hey! Seems like that's what they do in Jhb

So when do you gym Solitude? Might bump into you sometime

Here in Capw Town it all depends on the Stage of load shedding. Stage 1 we get shedded for 2 hours, Stage 2 for 4 hours and Stage 3 for 6 hours. The difference is that it's split into 2 hour segments, at different times during the day.
