so I need to get myself a portable HDD - backup for now and all my important shizzle when I sell the pc and go to the UK - but hell, there is so much choice. Anyone have any experiences with any?

Afternoon all.

Look into gettting a 2.5" one they are easier to chuck around. Got a seagate and toshiba one and a freecom and they still working fine. But I do treat them with the utmost care.

Why not just keep all your hard drives and sell your PC without them? Or, if you have multiple drives, copy all the data you want to keep over to one or two drives and take them with you, format the rest and sell them with your PC.

Also, not sure how much data you want to back up, but 3.5" Externals are generally cheaper than 2.5" Portables however the 2.5" ones are smaller and easier to transport. Personally I have a 2.5" WD 2TB portable and it works great. I have had it for 3 years now I think.

I don't wanna cart so many hdd's with me overseas, rather just format and sell with pc ..... I was checking out the Western Digital My Passport Ultra, seems decent. Deffo 2.5" just for the handy size.

Hi you two. How are things?

Not too bad actually. I'm watching Netflix on our comfy blue couch with my wife lamenting the week's frustration at work. But at least I've got a nice new project at work that I decided to integrate with 2 other projects and get them done at the same time, seeing as they're quite similar. Saves my client time and money. :)

I have to confess though - I'm REALLY starting to dig Java and PL/SQL. It's probably just my adventurous nature that's shifting my tastes away from the Microsoft stack.

I've only briefly touched Java. You are lucky that you are enjoying work at the moment! I can really do with a break right about now.

I love and trust you only as far as I can see you. Needless to say: I don't trust any of you Tkuiers.

That screen usually appears when you have Steam running, so I'm guessing Steam is causing what you're seeing. :wtf:

Was referring to the white shadow casting - light text on a dark background. Could just be that this monitor is near death and you're not seeing what I'm seeing. The HDMI to VGA connector is giving in. :/

Damn it was cold this morning, a nice -2 when I drove to work.
May you all have a splendid Friday. I want mine to just go by quick and hassle free :)

I see there has been another mass shooting in the USA. :/
