I have to ask... why Powered by Frostbite?
A fan of the engine and its capabilities.
A fan of the engine and its capabilities.
I always thought frostbite was wonky as shit
It had some texture popping issues, as did Unreal to be fair. It wasn't a complete crock of eldridge shite, like say the Creation Engine which Bethesda has been running all their games off since Oblivion. But capabilities wise it, Frostbite, wasn't on par with say latest Dunia or Snowdrop engines, both which have far better weather effects and built in AI.
I am just trying to determine, from the user, what exactly about it he/she/it (sorry dont know your gender 8sh) likes. I like to know these things.
Dunia is great. Was also a huge fan of Chrome engine although I can't see why these days.
Frostbite always just seemed so unstable - like every game that launched with it was virtually unplayable.
Its the same thing I didn't like about Fallout 4. It suppose to be the end of the world yet 20 minutes in I was taking out dudes like I was the god of hell fire delivering righteous fury with my hardened hunting rifle.
Maybe you should start playing on hard. Fallout kicks my arse way too often. Although I've never been to comfortable playing first person without a mouse and keyboard. Having said that, the 3rd person view annoys me more than my lack of skill using a PS controller.
Was this on PC or Console?
The last few Battlefields I know have had issue on PC but have been fairly stable on console. So maybe thats more of a developer issue that an issue with the engine.
PC of course
Next question, steam or Origin?
I've found that generally my steam games are uniformly stable, barring the early access ones, while things that need Uplay or Origin or god forbid the Windows 10 app store then to be less so.
Oranges.
Steam has rarely if ever given me problems - same with Uplay funnily enough
Good afternoon... Sick as a dog today. Blah... They're gonna expect me back at work tomorrow too![]()
I'm a guy, you and I have had many a conversation in the past - probably under a different username.
The frostbite engine in general is a favourite. I only started experiencing it from Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (utilising the Frostbite 2 Engine). Frostbite 3 was very buggy initially, but I only got Battlefield 4 long after its release, so it ran fine on my system (with all the patches etc). I like the Unreal engine as its not too taxing on my system, and really like the Dunia engine as well. Far Cry 4 was a pleasure to play.
The CryEngine is a lot more taxing than Dunia and Frostbite 3, as far as I can tell, however, in terms of what it can offer, it's quite a marvel to behold, but I really think it's more of a showcase engine (spreading its peacock wings) pardon the comparison.
It's just, a game like Crysis 3 is linear-open-world whereas Frostbite and Dunia are more nonlinear-open-world. Maybe in a different setting. Evolve also made use of the engine, but again... Linear-open-world.
What about sick leave? Or have you squandered those?
Or will your place of work crumble without your presence?![]()
Are you that person that keeps changing their username?
well that fairs enough.
Who was that person again?
