Man, I stayed up late to watch the ATP tennis finals last night (awesome match btw). Would have been ideal to take today off... I'm still not awake.

Morning all, I am highly pissed off, I got up early, got ready for work, as I was leaving the house, my dad (who is still my boss) forgot to tell me we are not working today

Glad you found out before you left, at least. Too bad your sleep in got hijacked

So some people have shown up now. But the boss hasn't yet. When people asked if we have a day off on Friday the boss had a scowl on his face.

Mine apparently told us on friday - I know he didnt cos I would have turned my alarm off

*Still pissed off*

Hello, everyone!

it was this weekend and yes it was so awesome!

Mrs. Avatar and I went, and I enjoyed it so much.

Cons: * Drinks running out early
* Ladies' queues were miles long
* The sound engineer kept messing with the levels and at least one microphone was distorting

Pro's: * All of the bands. Such good
* Getting into the parking was easy and quick
* Getting out of the parking was really quick, but I heard that others weren't as lucky
* I was designated driver, so the drinks running out didn't affect me :D

Glad you enjoyed it as well. did you park by the casino or in the veld? we went the casino parking route and it wasnt that bad of a mission to get out.

i still cant believe in this day and age how they run out of alcohol so early on, i mean is there not just one person who checks these things and arranges to have more brought in if it does run out? another con for me was the lack of dustbins... i saw two and it was at the entrances of where the food stalls were, would make cleaning up afterwards so much easier.

i found the sound for nude girls and prime circle bad but for pixies it was great. i loved the whole open air vibe and the sound was much better than anything i have watched at soccer city

We parked in the veld, directly behind the food carts. We left just as they were starting the encore, and we lost like 5 minutes on the GPS's eta to getting out of parking.

The thing about running out of booze is that it shouldn't happen in the first place. Step 1: Look at how many tickets you've sold. Step 2: Chat to your distributor and get an estimate of how much stock you'll need. Step 3: Double it. Step 4: Double it again. Step 5: Sell as much as you can. Step 6: Return what you didn't use to the distributor. It's low-risk for everyone involved, so running out is inexcusable.

Funnily enough, we sat by the "smoking tent" (ha!) most of the day, and we were literally between two dustbins. I also saw a bunch of cleaners throughout the day, which did help.

The biggest issue with the sound I had was that the lead guitar's level kept going up and down, by a lot, as if the engineer couldn't figure out how loud the guitar should be. That, and the occasional loud pop really worked on my nerves, but I am, admittedly, anal about sound at shows and with music.

In general, though, the whole day was a lot of fun, and seeing The Pixies is a major checkbox on the bucket list that we never thought we'd get to check.

Starting ME3 today, finished ME2 late last night.

Not leaving the house unless it is burning down - this heat is mental
