Good morning, y'all. Making infrequent appearances around here, huh? :D

How's it going?

Hi Hagan

It's going alright thanks. My wife quit her job so financially it's going to be a bit more difficult but we are in the lucky position that we can afford to do that right now.

How about you? How are things going?

All the best to you guys.

Was your wife unhappy at her job?

Thanks czc. Yes, it's just too much work for one person to handle. It just got worse and worse and it she became more and more depressed. So it's better that she quit. It's sad really because she was a sub-editor before this and she loved that and she was so happy.

I guess magazines is a tough business to be in right now.

Dude, being okay with your work is more important that having a job, IMO. Get her to set up profiles om upwork.com and freelancer.com to see if there are any jobs worth her time on there, and contact the big media houses, they like having people on contract these days. If you need a contact at Media24, let me know, my dad worked there for nearly 20 years.
PsychoFish: Similarly, if you've got questions for someone who worked at Media24 for ages, before you make the jump, feel free to let me know, I'll pass it on. He was a journo, so different field altogether, but the big picture stuff will be applicable.
