What a welcome email I received this afternoon! Seeing as there's a bit of a ruckus around the cost of MyBroadband conference tickets this year, I was quite surprised to receive a mail with a voucher code for 2 complimentary tickets covering entrance, food, drinks and a voucher booklet! It's non-transferable though, and only for myself and a colleague of my choosing. I'm too scared to post about it on MyBB itself due to people raising a fuss and blowing it out of proportion, which is usual for that side of the internet...

Apparently I'm "a prominent executive in the South African IT market". Way to stroke the ego a bit.

I always thought that conference was free for some reason.

It used to be free, but now it's a paid-for conference. Hence me not wanting to kick up a storm over at MyBB for posting that I received 2 free tickets... Apparently some people are receiving emails with discount vouchers to reduce the price to 10% of the normal entry fee.

Haha. I've got some stories to tell too but I'm not allowed to. The things I've seen made me realise how stupid people are out there. Especially in some other African countries.
