Time magazine names its "All-time top 100 games"

The problem with lists like that is that it will miss true classics. Like shock horror .... not a single Monkey Island game is listed! That's just one example. It's difficult to make lists like these.

It is quite a good list though. :)

omg a mygaming/mybb article with an actual external link. WTF! Hell is probably freezing over right about now. Admittedly with extra small font to hide it, but hey its the thought that counts.

Anyway the > year 2000 ones:

Also...skyrim, SC2, BF3 and Crysis is missing. Maybe Dota too (though technically W3 is on there).

No Warcraft?
No Warcraft II?
No Warcraft III? (spotting a trend?)

From the 90's:

Grim Fandango? REALLY? Are you seriously going to look me in the eye and say GRIM FANDANGO was a better game than Command and Conquer? Red Alert?
Duke Nukem 3D?
Need for Speed?
Star Wars: Dark forces and Jedi Knight series?

2000's:

MOHAA?
Warcraft III TFT?
Assassin's Creed? Assassin's Creed II?
Grand Turismo?
NFS?
Battlefield? Battlefield 2?

It seems like a few really big games were neglected because some obscure genre needed to be included.

Maybe Dota too (though technically W3 is on there).

Nope!

World of Warcraft is an ENTIRELY different game to warcraft III! Dota was MASSIVE in the 2000's and destroyed anything else in the team game RTS category. its spawned the likes of HoN and LoL... and now DotA 2!

Not to mention, Warcraft III on it's own... all the TD's? All the custom maps... It's STILL POPULAR! Missed a big name in war3.

haha yes indeed. I just screwed up while scanning the list: I ctrl-f'd warcraft & didn't pay to much attention to the World of part.

Hence I thought dota omission is excusable because its a map & technically the base game is one there (except it isn't).
