Titanfall Beta Access Registration

I for 1 will surely give u all the info on the latency ect. if I get my invite. And if I don't I will do so in March. I've pre-ordered from BT Games, and the local server issue wont stand in my way. Lag no Lag I'm gearing up for TITANFALL.

Sigapore has Azure Datacenter and on pingtest.net got the best results on their server. 160ms. Note the test is on a normal server and not a cloud but this should give a small indication of what we can expect.

Seems like we wont have to worry about ping after all. Just spoke to an EA Mod playing the Beta already. All matches are based in your own region. Time between matches are 2 minutes to give u time to prepare. So it seems like even though we don't have datacenter in SA, the servers will be for a specific region. This is what I understand from the conversation I had.

How does that work though? Was he specifically talking about SA? It kinda contradicts all the other info we've been receiving.

Not sure. But he got the game 2 days ago already. I've also read that we will have to make use of international servers. But the cloud apparently works on a different way than normal servers. So I guess its gona be a simple matter of wait and see. But he clearly stated we will be playing in our own region. Now the question still remains on how high or low the latency will be.

This cloud in our own region keeps pointing me to a p2p lobby of sorts.

It's apparently not P2P. "Cloud" is referring to virtual Titanfall servers that are created as needed on regional cloud servers.

How can they make a new IP closed beta. This is a bit stupid. I won't be buying until I've tried this game on my own pc. This game is even worse cause it comes from COD developers so I don't think it's something fresh until i can play for myself. I've given up waiting for a key. It must come or not. Anyone that received a key yet?

They might be aware of their available resources to not be up to support Millions of people off the bat, hence them keeping it isolated to a closed BETA.

You seem to be very contradictory of your opinion of this game in that paragraph of yours as well.

Thats what I'm thinking. Maybe they've got a hybrid system, sometimes servers or else p2p...

But either way I feel we're getting mixed signals. If we had servers here, they would just bloody say it. Saying its all "region based" actually doesn't mean a thing, it probably just means they'll put servers in highly populated regions. And that sure as hell does not include us.
