Titanfall launch cancelled in SA

I'm so very sad right now. Would seriously have done a great deal to play this game. Most fun I've had in a long time (played in the beta)

Not even a little sad, was never going to buy it cause of the fact that there's no Azure servers in SA. Blame MS and EA for chosing Azure as their hosted platform!

Yeah such an outcome is not surprising considering that it would be impossible to play the MP portion ,(the main reason for the game's existence), with any kind of reasonable network stability.

This is what happens when you do most processing server side with no dedicated server software for end users.

On the side, Hawken is going free to play later today.

I had no problem playing the multiplayer beta.

If only they'd allow us to use the Europe Azure cloud until they possibly bring out a cloud here in SA.

I fear this is only the start. If SA doesn't get any dedicated Azure server support, this will be problems that will face every owner of a new Xbox One. This is make it impossible for the console to have any level of successful launch at all.

They have probably learnt their lesson from Xbox360 in SA i.e most gamers bought PS3. Xbox market is tiny here compared to other countries. Sony has a bigger presence for gamers in SA than Xbox that is why we received a PS4 launch because this market matters to Sony.
Nobody owns an Xbox One in SA because it hasn't been launched here yet
So answer is simple stick to Sony

Apparently this was due to a single gamer trying to sue EA in terms of the CPA saying its not providing their promise of a local server setup for the ip EA then determined its not justifiableso they jsut pulled the ip

I'd love to know the source of this rumour.

I suspect he was talking about this - http://www.sagamer.co.za/forum/showthread.php?132718-No-local-servers-CPA-complaint

However, I don't see anything about anyone being sued. Ultimately, the guy wanted EA to acknowledge that the game won't play as well as it would in other countries due to the lack of local servers, forcing them to either add local servers, or add a sticker mentioning that the game lacked local server support, which could be detrimental to the overall experience. He did this by emailing EA and Apex, and brought up the CPA as a basis for his complaint. Seems like EA took option 3: just don't bother selling the game in SA :P
