To Gift or Not to Gift

What does everyone think about the aspect of giving away individual bundle keys to friends or using them on steamgifts, steamgifts no longer has a issue with this but its more a shift the blame kind of attitude where they stipulate that you should review the game sites terms and conditions. humblebundle's terms state that: "please consider your bundle a "unit", and not to share copies of the games or Steam keys from it"

I get the idea they know that people are going to do this but don't care ,otherwise they would go back to using single keys for steam like the older bundles did.

Well I don't think it matter what the purchaser does with the games considering the whole idea of humble bundle was to raise money for charity right?

Humble & Indie Bundle is the only ones that says do not split them, if I look at the others none of them has this clause:

Q Can I share games / bundle / Desura keys if I already own a game in the bundle?
Indie Royale bundles are strictly for personal use only. Sharing Steam keys because you already own a game in the bundle is not allowed. The same applies for Desura keys. If your friend wants a bundle you should gift them or they can purchase it themselves.

The idea behind Indie Royale bundles is to support indie games, we always offer excellent games at a price you cannot beat - so please recognize this and support the developers participating by buying your own bundle.

I already own some of the games in the bundle, can I give these games to a friend?
Yes, you can pass on the individual Steam® keys to a friend to redeem. Please remember that each Steam® key can only be redeemed once.

Groupee has no rule against it

Also see nothing against such practive in Green Man Gaming

From what I understand its not so much a legal issue, more a moral one. They basically want people to donate individually and seeing that games are so cheap I can see why. In 3rd world countries this moral code seem to be more of a plea than anything else.

Catch-22?

If in the case of humble bundles you already own those games then yeah, I think you should be able to gift them. I get the whole idea is to get cash for the developers but in the case of humble bundle where the price is so low I doubt the developer sees much of that cash. I think it's far better exposure to get more people playing that game and to develop hype about it.

2 people playing your game, loving it and telling people about it is better than 1 who buys 2 copies for himself is what I'm trying to say.
