Good evnin gents!

Got an interesting question which i can't make my mind up on? Im going to build up my new pc next week but i'm having a cadenza. Originally i thought with the money i have that i will get a i5 2500k as cpu and a amd hd 7850 as gpu. But i have about R1000 spare? Do i buy a ssd, or Buy an i7 2700k instead of the i5 or buy a hd 7870 instead of the 7850?

Decisions decisions....

SSD will be the single most noteable difference. Getting an i5 2500k with it should be the bee's knees.

I would say a 7870 as well. Much better investment. Loading times, hmm whats that...
Better graphic settings, upgrade that lasts longer where needed, makes more sense.

7870 definitely - for gaming the graphics card is the most important and the one that should cost the most in your pc build.

Thanks guys, let me throw in another spanner in the works... found a MSI geforce gtx580 twin frozr for R3599. R600 cheaper than any 7870 i can find.... whaddaya think?

Depending on what games you play and at what res. If, like me, you only play CODMW3, then you are better off with the SSD. :D

I'd go SSD hey.

And I'd then wait for the new Nvidia 600 series. Going to whip AMD's 7000 series offering.

I very recently got the 120GB version of the Vertex 3 and I can comforably say that 15 second boot times never get old. But then again, I already have a decent graphics setup and a good CPU (the i5 2500k, which is perfect).

Agreeing with Densweep, wait for Nvidia's new range. Not only could they outperform AMDs 7-series, they should influence the pricing a bit too.
