Funny enough all if this and current word $$$ situation made think think to a loaf of bread being so expensive. Then I thought if so then definitely it would be the Chinese handing out the mark ;)

I don't know what the answer is. In SA it is the few that support the many. The few are fed up and so are the many.
 
What I find crazy is that taxis don't have to pay for the toll and no tax also since they get cash.

It will make the Gautrain more feasible for going to work if they offer cheap monthly passes.
 
It's insane and it makes commutes between JHB and PTA very expensive actually. Another f*** up by the government trying to squeeze ever penny out of those that have it.

you know i dont want to be negative about it either, your points are good ones but the fact remains, people dont trust the Government and i dont blame, hec nor do trust them, fact is will that money really go where it should, where did they come up wit this figure why not y instead of x amount, you see there is'nt trust because the track record speaks for itself? Will we be another Zim, well it can happen, it could be worse, there is always a turning point in which things get better or worse where things rapidly increase or decline.....this is actual fact, however small it may be could be one...but i have my eye on Mr Malema when he decides screw you ANC and makes his party with even bigger promises and huge following of poor youths who are desperate, now THAT will be a turning point....I pray it does not happen
 
Tax money would be , in my mind , applied to pay for upholding the standard of the roads (amongst other things).
Think on this for a moment,
what do you get for your tax money ?
Does government maintain the roads you drive on ? You pay toll money now , so no.
Does government give you a decent police service ? We all know there are cases where the police are as corrupt and criminal as the thieves , and you pay a armed responce company to attend when you feel in danger , so no.
Does government give you free health care ? Well if you dont have a medical aid youre in trouble AND theres an extra tax coming in for a national health care project that you wont benefit from , so .. again .. no .

So what does government give me , for my tax money ?

Everyone is entitled to feel upset about the tolling of roads that weren't maintained by government and now having to pay tolls for something that should have been payed for with your tax money over these years.

I challenge anyone to tell me , what does government do for YOU with your tax money ?

im afraid none of it goes towards me, not those who actually need it

where does it go? Crimminals

there are two kinds really:

1: You pay tax to provide food and care for murderers and rapists alike who are sitting in jail

2: You pay for the rest that take the money for their personal use, you'll find quite a few in our parliament.

Word. They contribute to wear and tear on the roads just like everyone else, never mind the fact that they're using the roads to make money while not paying a cent of tax either.

And is there not already a fee factored into the petrol price that goes to road upkeep?

Eish, it's now going slightly beyond a joke with us having to now pay this tax on top of normal tax, not to mention the upcoming NHI nonsense.

But that's the ANC for you. We also pay for availability of electricity, as well as tax on electricity, then we're forced to pay another R2.20 service charge for every day we don't buy electricity. They'll milk us for our very last cent if they can.

Then again, they need the money to make up for all the damned grants they're handing out. :/
