Tomb Raider Definitive Edition: does it look better than the PC version?

Hopefully the PC master race will look at the comparison picture at the bottom and realize the obvious. The next-gen console version > PC version.

Well, the one thing I can see is that it the PC version must be much more difficult since Lara has a lot more blood on her face. Obviously had to kill a lot more enemies getting to that point in the game :p

LOL - yeah, the whole bloody Lara in the top pic wasn't exactly the "direct comparison" that I was hoping for. I still think this new console version looks better though. And I'm not a console fanboy at all. I own all 3 current platforms and actually have the PC version of the game.

I'll reserve judgement until we get to see 1080p comparisons. If the console version turns out to be superior, I hope they'll release a definitive PC version as well. I haven't yet purchased Tomb Raider and I won't mind getting the best looking version with DLC included.

Looks close to PC on Ultra (here and there better), until you realize that I can play it at 60fps on Ultra. DE is capped at 30.

where is it indicated on the framerate cap ? i havent seen a single legit article stating the game runs at 30 frames yet ?

Fear not - It can't possibly be as bad as NFS:Rivals on PC. I mean, that's a special kind of bad. It's like the overlord of bad.
Next time I'll listen to TB - even though I think he's a prat.

Rivals cant possibly be as bad as the Run :p

Why didn't they do the comparison in 1080p?
It prevents things like pixel counting - the JPEG artifacts distort anything that might hint at what is actually going on from a technical perspective.

More intriguing though -the image is 1445 pixels high, less 5 pixels middle divider...1440...two images...gives exactly 720p. Thats quite a co-incidence for comparing two platforms & titles supposedly both capable of 1080p. Thats not to say the PS4 isn't capable of true 1080p...all I'm saying is the number seem to line up in an oddly specific manner - make of that what you will.

Still consoles and PCs are now so closely aligned from a technical perspective that we'll likely see improvements on the console side benefit PC and vice versa.

I know I'm repeating myself here, but I'm still intrigued by the fact that they are promising this on both xbone and PS4...despite the one being weaker than the other.

I actually couldnt care which looks better... If the game play is up there im in... The visuals are such a touchy subject, and to me have a relatively small impact on the over all game...

I'm definitely gonna re-buy TR on next-gen :D

I just hope there's a way to stop the God awful camera from moving all the Goddamn time. TR forced me to use my glasses it was fucking with my eyes so much...

Look a GTA 5, don't underestimate these console developers just yet.
