Too many whites in Gauteng

This is a very clever plan by the ANC guys to move all their opposition's people away from the provinces where ANC did not win the area.

If this works then they would really control/rule the entire country.

WTF did i just read!? The future looks bleaker by the day for non-blacks..
That statement makes no sense even in the context of this article.

Even in this article black people still are getting the far worse end of the deal in terms of displacement numbers; (regardless of the factual or truthful nature of the article. But we're far beyond that point now I guess)

Clearly though, sensationalist rhetoric drives the public opinion more tangibly than well reasoned thoughts and arguments. Just going by the reactions they have already received from this why would they even want to try a different tactic.

It's a bit of a catch 22. News outlets make sensationalist news because viewers read that the most. Viewers like sensationalism so the news outlets write those kinds of articles. Unfortunately I don't see this changing, until something changes that makes people prefer levelheadedness and not sensationalism.

It makes me quite annoyed because this is the information age. Keeping yourself ignorant or reading complete tosh should not be happening. People hardly ever fact check, and take whatever information that gets dished out with open mouths. They just accpet whatever they're told as fact.

A topic i'd rather not get into...

This post is so deep, it really contributes to the discussion. :p

Yeah that's the primary issue. When you know that something will work, regardless of the ethics of the matter, it's difficult to want to change your approach to something. In this case good journalism.

Like you touched upon. The fault lies primarily with the audience for not only fostering the environment where such sensationalism is possible and palatable; but also expected to some degree.

Unfortunately for us confirmation bias is a serious issue that plagues us. And as long as it persists in someone's mind; they are far less likely to even want to hear level headed and constructive debate and argument lest it happen to shake apart the idea of the world they so stringently cling to in their minds
