It should come as no surprise to fans and gamers alike that BioWare enlisted a number of celebrities to voice the cast and crew of the Normandy in Mass Effect 3. In some cases, their likenesses were also used in portraying the characters.
In other cases, BioWare simply modeled the characters as best they could, and should they resemble anyone in real life, it would be totally coincidental.
In this list, we take a look at eight characters in Mass Effect 3 who look like their real life counterparts in some cases, and in others simply resemble more well known celebrities—with a little help from Photoshop, and some makeup.
The default male Shepard—and the one seen on the box, was designed with the face and body of world renown Dutch model Mark Vanderloo. He lent his likeness to the game since the first Mass Effect and has been with the series ever since. He is, however, voiced by actor Mark Meer.
The Illusive Man takes the likeness of Martin Sheen, known to many of his fans as President Josiah Bartlett in the TV series The West Wing, among many other high profile roles. He has the likeness, the mannerisms, and the voice of Sheen—making him one of the most standout personalities in the series.
James Vega may have the voice of Freddie Prinze Jr. but he has the attitude and the looks of Jersey Shore star Ronnie. All in all, not totally annoying and absolutely not The Situation.
